1. Growth Stage (Anagen): This is the phase in which hair growth is at its most active stage – the root of the hair is firmly attached within the skin where the melanin (pigment) is abundant. This is also the stage when Laser hair removal is most effective.
2. Transition stage (Catagen): The hair has completed growing and is now as long as it will be. With Laser hair removal, the hair detaches from the root and will fall out on its own. The duration of this process can range from 7 -21 days.
3. Resting stage (Telogen): This is the resting phase of the hair follicle. The hair has detached from the root and is no longer growing. This stage can last from one week to up to a year before the cycle returns to the growth stage.
